Essam ElSaadany is a Cairo-based Egyptian artist and illustrator. Born in 1994, he studied Architecture.
He enjoys pushing himself and experimenting with numerous approaches in order to bring his thoughts to reality. His motivation stems from life’s hardships and internal conflicts. He works as a brand designer and has worked on various animation projects as an illustrator.

My work was selected for the Mahmoud Kahil Awards in 2022 in the category of graphic illustration. For my self-published magazine Dead Poets Society.
My art has been displayed in several exhibitions throughout multiple nations. The Mahmoud Kahil Award is an NGO aiming to promote comics, editorial cartoons, and illustrations in the Arab world through the recognition of the rich talent and creative achievement of artists from the region.
The award program was established in 2014 under the Mu’taz and Rada Sawwaf Arabic Comics Initiative at the American University of Beirut. The finalists in the various categories of the award are selected by a panel of 7 distinguished international and regional jury members from the field and academia.

I was one of the artists chosen to have a solo exhibition of my work at Cairo Comix 6.
Cairo Comix is an international festival of comics in Egypt that was launched in 2015 as the first and only comic festival in the country.
The festival aims to gather Egyptians ranging between local and international comic book artists; The festival is still focusing on new editions and artists from Arab world and also similar inspiring models from around the world.
